The nose on this whiskey is surprisingly light and floral, suggestive of honeysuckle with hints of dried cherry. The palate has expected bourbon cues of vanilla, cinnamon, and honey, but finishes more interestingly with the nutty-flavor of ground oil seed.

1420 Finished at Sea bourbon follows in the traditions of pre-prohibition bourbon makers who aged their whiskey on flatboats floating on the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers. Instead of flatboats on rivers, our whiskey is aged and exposed to the elements on fishing vessels plying the waters of the Long Island Sound. The result? A full-bodied bourbon that embodies our maritime environment while embracing the whiskey making traditions of old. 94 proof
